Having deployed Old Acquaintances’ first hotfix, the team at Lost Pilgrims Studio has moved on to our next project: the regional DLC. The beginning of this process is iterative and requires intense coordination; it begins with the design phase, planning locations, and an overarching narrative. We need to understand what unique gameplay elements the DLC will bring to the table, which narrative beats we want to focus on, and finally, which characters or NPCs will drive that narrative.
Hey everyone,
You might be aware that Vagrus has been verified on Steam Deck but did you know that the game is – sort of – available on Xbox, too? As part of the 'ID@Xbox Game Demo Fest: Winter 2023', for a limited time, the demo version of Vagrus is available on Xbox. That’s right! Back during summer, their event team put out a call for game demos. We figured why not apply, so we did and we made it into the prestigious 33 selected demos!
Hello everyone,
Recently we have talked about how we are absolutely dedicated to bringing Vagrus – The Riven Realms to as many platforms as possible. Back in November, we posted an update about our game being published on the Humble Bundle storefront. Then, in January, we announced the game’s publishing on Green Man Gaming. With that, only one unconquered PC store remained – one of the largest – until this day. Today, it is our pleasure to announce that Vagrus is now published on Epic Games!
Hello everyone,
A big event took place in our neck of the woods on 24th February: the Budapest Game Dev Day Academy, which is the largest conference for game developers in Hungary. Over 20 dev teams and studios showed up at the event, which also featured more than 30 presentations and panel discussions. The last Game Dev Day was held in 2020, and it was amazing to take part in one now, after three long years.
Following last week’s implementation of both Initiative track improvements and key bindings, the team has been hard at work on additional quality of life improvements. We’ve listened closely to your feedback, and we’re pleased to announce two new upcoming features: custom chart notes and custom journal notes.
In Part I., we discussed upcoming changes that are not combat-related for the most part, so in this one we'll focus on updates to combat, as well as changes we've made to the Log.
Game Log Changes
We've felt for a while now that despite providing important information, the game log is not as informative as we would like it to be. And so we took our tools to it to give it a nice facelift and rework.
The latest content update (Patch 0.5.30 Codename: Brimstone and Bones) brings with it a spacious region to explore, the most prominent part of which are the Smolderbone Flats. Players who took the 'Pilgrims of the Wasteland' standalone story for a spin surely recognize this place, as it was an important location in that story. And yet you will find that much has changed since your last visit, with 10 years passing, allegiances shifting, and new threats rising.
With the addition of tons of new equipment for comitati, we have recently arrived at the point where a redesign of the equipment system became necessary. The new mechanic allows players to use these items in more diverse and specialized ways. New types of equipment, like armaments, tools, and animals are also added while we iron out the older list as well to make it more consistent and interesting. Another change is that Deputies will now be linked to equipment in a new way - they will open up extra slots for certain types when assigned to their post, further deepening the system. Now you'll be able to make use of more equipment at the same time and come up with combinations that better suit a large variety of situations in game.
Hey everyone,
today, we are happy to share the changes we squeezed into this new update! Better yet, we have included two additional features that we managed to implement on top of our initial plans.
A quick recap of what we have added (skip ahead to see the bonus additions):
Lost Pilgrims had an AMA session over on discord where players asked us questions about the game and the studio alike. We had a great time talking to people and decided to compile the questions and answers into a single AMA article for posterity. We also added some very frequently asked questions to the beginning that players or those looking up information on the game might find informative.
