Lost Pilgrims is an indie game development studio that released Vagrus - The Riven Realms, a dark fantasy strategy RPG for PC, in October 2021. We are currently working on bringing the game to a wide array of other platforms, including mobile, alongside developing further expansive DLC content for its vast world and in-depth lore. Although most of us have worked on games before, Lost Pilgrims as a studio is fairly new. We set out with the goal of developing a quality game, one that we ourselves would like to play. Thus, Vagrus is a passion project, and everyone on the team is giving their very best to make it come to life.

SZONJA | SKILLED ESCAPIST WITH A BRUSH GLUED TO HER HAND

As lifelong fan of RPGs, Szonja has an exceptional love for characters of fiction and a passion for bringing them alive with her pen and tablet. Before stepping on the road to follow her dream by becoming a graphic designer, Szonja studied coding, C# no less, which comes extremely handy when she works with Unity, managing and animating the art assets she herself created.

AKOS | CONSUMER OF ADVENTURES

An avid gamer and lover of story-driven experiences of all kinds, Ákos is a graphic designer by profession. He is responsible for various design tasks, ranging from social media profiles to UX design, as well as for the game’s UI.

BALINT | AVID GAMER AND CODE MONKEY

A lover of almost every genre of video games, ranging from action packed MOBAs to 100+ hours long JRPGs. This love for games and a long-time interest in IT steered him in the direction of game development, which he has been doing for years now, having started out as a QA engineer and later transitioned into code.

BENMONOR | SLEEPLESS CARTOGRAPHER

Bence Monori is a mural painter, graphic designer, 3D artist, and indie game developer. He's been involved in game development since the age of 12 using Game Maker version 6. Inspired by games like Heroes of Might Magic 3, Age of Empires 1 & 2, Fallout 1 & 2, and the Diablo series, he shifted his focus to his graphical portfolio in 2019-2020, dedicating time to learning Blender and ZBrush, creating matte painting pieces and producing fan-related material before joining Lost Pilgrims.

BENI | LIFELONG DREAMER, ADMIRER OF HIGH FANTASY

Beni knew decades ago he wants to build fantastic fantasy experiences for seeking souls. To that end, he knew he must wield the ancient magical art of programming, so he begun his long journey of becoming a coding-wizard craftsman specialized in C# runes and the Unity forge. Eventually, his path led him to the mysterious Lost Pilgrims, where he practices his profession for the greater good...

BOZ | SCRUTINEER OF SYSTEMS, INSIGHTFUL SCHOLAR

Although he never outgrew his love of games (and especially video games), in a previous life, Boz was a systems engineer. The combination of these, coupled with years and years of experience, led to a deep knowledge of game systems, be they digital or otherwise. He observes these systems from an engineer's point of view, drawing great fun and satisfaction from the process if they are designed elegantly and are functional, achieving entertainment value in an efficient way for end users.

GERI | GAME MASTER FOR LIFE, THE WRITING TROLL

Geri has been building our wondrous dark fantasy world for over twenty years. Now he’s responsible for game design, as well as creating concept art with our graphic designers, and has been writing stories and lore to fill a gigantic game world with amazing things to do and find.

JAMES | ROMANTIC DREAMER, AVID GAMER, THE WRITING GREMLIN

An ex-DM and aficionado of all things RPG, James had worked as a writer and teacher for years before coming to us at Lost Pilgrims, where he is thrilled to write all kinds of stories, be they fantastic, dark or even romantic. Born in Africa and having grown up in New Zealand, his perspective is a... peculiar one to say the least.

SZTASZOV (GABOR) | RPG ADDICT WHO HAPPENS TO ENJOY GAME DEVELOPMENT

In a former life Gabor worked as a sourcing and finance process leader, most recently at various multinational companies. Now he is the project and team manager of Lost Pilgrims, who is also responsible for fundraising and game design.

BAZSO | BLACK BIRD DREAMING SINISTER COLORS

As an artist, Bazsó has been drawing and painting for decades. His wonderful work on successful board games (like Saltlands) caught our eyes, and now he works on Vagrus with us. He is one of the artists visualizing the stunning world of the game: painting its ominous greatness right alongside horrific creatures and magical anomalies.

DZ | WRITER OF STRANGE TALES

DZ loves fantasy, as well as strange and branching narratives. He is enthusiastic to have the chance of working on Vagrus and possibly to kill some imaginary heroes. He has worked as a writer at startups, so fiction as a job is quite familiar to him.

GYURI | MUSIC ENTHUSIAST AND LIFELONG GAMER

Gyuri loves to create worlds, feelings and moods. A well-versed musician and composer, he is producing our game music and sound effects. He is also a great cook and throws amazing parties.

IVAN | SCHEMER AND DECEIVER

A rascal and ne'er-do-well with a penchant for bold lies, this particular fellow has been known to work mischief as a small-time comic book artist (he feels better by now) and a freelance translator of fiction. Being an avid fanatic of RPGs, he considers Lost Pilgrims to be an ideal environment for his nefarious plots.

LACI | WEAVER OF CODE

Coder and game developer extraordinaire. It is rumored that he traded his soul for a chilling synth-wave soundtrack to help him focus on the intricate systems that drive the world of the Riven Realms under the hood; he himself only refers to this event as "the latest update".

LARES (CSABA) | JACK-OF-ALL-TRADES

Before joining the Core Team, he was travelling and working abroad for many years, working different jobs but eventually his love of games brought him to the industry. Now he is responsible for Testing and Social Media (among other things) at Lost Pilgrims. As the saying goes: Jack of all trades, master of none, but often better, than a master of one.

MANTI (VIKTOR) | DESCENDANT OF THE GOD OF CODERS

Coder for life. The embodiment of cold. Liszt level piano player wannabe. Or just a guy who lives in Kabur.

NOBO | GAMING INDUSTRY VETERAN

Once upon a time a senior developer at a number of studios (including Most Wanted Entertainment, Crytek, Mithis Entertainment), Nobo has since then seen the world through the eyes of a freelancer, and joined the core team of Lost Pilgrims.

PETER | CONNOISSEUR OF THE BLEAK AND THE ALIEN

Peter Kovacs is a veteran of the graphic design industry, having created everything from storyboards, concept art, comic books, and board games to book covers and illustrations. He received a number of prestigious awards for his work and his distinct style is immediately recognizable in the industry. He primarily works on location artwork for us.

ZELI | INDIE FOODIE STORYSMITH, THE WRITING GOBLIN

Switching from the corporate world to indie game development some time ago, Zeli is one of the eager storysmiths of Lost Pilgrims' very own Taleforge. We regularly inspire him with free food.
