Hello everyone,
This time we have tweaked push and pull effects in Companion combat – something we have been looking to do for a while. Until now, upon being successfully targeted by push or pull Skills, characters switched positions along horizontal lines. From now on, however, they may move diagonally as well, depending on the positions of the attacker and the defender. This means that the positioning of Companions will have a larger influence on what happens during combat, thus introducing an additional tactical layer.
Hello everyone,
Recently we have talked about how we are absolutely dedicated to bringing Vagrus – The Riven Realms to as many platforms as possible. Back in November, we posted an update about our game being published on the Humble Bundle storefront. Then, in January, we announced the game’s publishing on Green Man Gaming. With that, only one unconquered PC store remained – one of the largest – until this day. Today, it is our pleasure to announce that Vagrus is now published on Epic Games!
Today we have the pleasure of welcoming one more to the Lost Pilgrims team, this time a Quality Assurance Tester – Bálint. Bálint has just finished his mandatory trial period, which means he has now become part of the team in full capacity. This comes at a crucial time as we are working hard on both porting Vagrus and producing our upcoming DLC.
Hello everyone,
In our previous post, we announced the opening of our public Beta branch. Since then, we’ve also been hard at work to implement all the improvements – and more – in our default branch, so here’s an overview of the things we are planning to include!
Today’s post will take on more of a technical focus. We recognize that these kinds of updates are not for everyone – if, however, you are interested in our internal processes and how you might help us improve the game for all moving forward, we invite you to read on.
As we have discussed before, one of the key focuses at Lost Pilgrims Studio right now is bringing Vagrus to multiple new platforms and dealing with the challenges that arise therein. To address these forthcoming challenges, we have revamped our bug reporting tool in-game, as shown above.
We recently announced Turn-based Fest, an event that originated from the initiative and hashtag #TurnBasedThursday – a collaborative project we launched roughly one and a half years ago. The Fest itself was essentially a curated Steam sale that put a focus on turn-based games. With the first Turn-based Fest now behind us, we are happy to report that the Fest was both a blast and a resounding success among many participants! Imagining that the details may be of interest to many people, regardless of having partaken in the festival or not, we have put together some noteworthy insights about the event and its aftermath.
As some of you may remember, roughly one and a half years ago we started the initiative known as #TurnBasedThursday. At the time, the goal was to bring together other game developers and allow them to show off their games on inclusive Twitter threads. At first, the threads were small, the engagement scarce, but these soon grew along with the developers involved with them. The developers integral to the efforts included the likes of Terra Randoma, Trese Brothers Games, Hugging Dragons (responsible for Wicked Lands), and, at the time Strateture.
Recently, we have shared posts pertaining to various areas of development, such as multi-platform controller support (featuring an adaptive button UI and drag & drop system), mobile and tablet porting & screen optimization of Vagrus for all mobile devices and the recently released Steam Deck, and finally, Localization in the shape of community translations. This post is going to be a bit different.
Hello everyone,
Back in December 2021, we posted a project update regarding our high-level plans for this year. One of these grand plans was to get featured on more game store platforms and the great news is that we’ve finally managed a breakthrough. We are overjoyed to announce that we are coming to the Humble Bundle storefront! Please be advised that Vagrus is not going to be included in any Bundle just yet, though it will be present on the storefront itself. People purchasing the game there will receive a Steam Key.
Last week we talked a bit about porting and screen optimization. The main goal is still to bring the game to a larger audience, of course, and so the next logical step in this endeavor is controller support across platforms. More specifically, we are working on full controller support for standard controllers and gamepad layouts including PCs, mobile devices, and – at some point – we hope we can get things working on hand-held and desktop console ports as well.
