Hey everyone,
We haven’t released a new build since way back in February, so we have got a slew of changes to discuss. While the changes are wide-ranging and significant, we’ve broken down each batch into easily digestible sections, the first of which is the Outpost and its coming update. For those of you looking for an abridged breakdown of what we’ve been working on you may simply scroll down to the patch notes.
Today we are sharing some of our newest art related to the upcoming DLC: Old Acquaintances. We’ll not tarry here with wasteful words, dear reader, take a look for yourself.
The Outpost feature has been on our minds for a long time but with all the other pressing matters – namely, our new DLC and the related coding –, it kept getting pushed down our priority list. In the end, however, we were able to dedicate a week to making improvements, focusing on adding clarity and showing more information to players. Please note that these changes are actively being worked on and will first come to the Steam Public Beta branch. Later, after being thoroughly playtested, they will go live on the default branches on all platforms.
This week we’re getting down to brass tacks: our first upcoming DLC this year and the Companions therein. Development is coming along smoothly, and we thought we’d share the highlights by delving into some details – without giving much away this early.
This week we’re continuing in the same vein, bringing you another project update that this time relates to our latest hire, polymath and computer science major Zoli, who joined us in September 2023 in the role of Quality Assurance Tester. Zoli is a systematic thinker, problem-solver, and gamer with a well of knowledge regarding all manner of things game dev (such as code or design). When asked, he was adamant about describing himself as “a novice wizard surrounded by talented sorcerers”, and as someone who’s worked alongside him, I can testify that he is all this and more. Under the “more” category we pencil in things like “90’s gamer”, “child chess prodigy”, “math enthusiast” (yes, apparently that’s a thing), and perhaps in stark contrast, a man who loves the outdoors: he’s run more than 500km this year already, which includes a marathon in Athens! Below is a snap of the man himself in his element.
Great news, everyone: today we at Lost Pilgrims are excited to announce that we are releasing a new Praetor Edition of the game on the 14th of March to coincide with Steam’s Spring Sale. Similar to the Centurion Edition, the Praetor Edition features the updated soundtrack, which we wrote about at length here, the Patronage Pack, and here’s the kicker: the Season Pass, too. The Season Pass is a package that includes our major expansion, Sunfire and Moonshadow, and two upcoming DLCs we plan to release: a Companion DLC and a Region DLC. Picking up this is a great way to support the ongoing development of Vagrus and nab some of our upcoming content at a slight discount to boot.
For the first time in a long time, we have a project update for you, and it’s a doozy. Although he already began working with us as early as June 2023, we’d now like to welcome one of our newest and most talented 2D and 3D artists: Bence Monori. Bence has a talent for many things, though he is currently focused primarily on a wide range of environmental art, some of which came to the fore during the expansion Sunfire and Moonshadow.
Hey everyone,
As we have mentioned before, while we are working on the upcoming DLCs already, we would also like to expand Vagrus with smaller content drops – both the core game and the Expansion. The first of such additions comes in the form of this update, which adds the starting segments of a lengthy questline to all owners of Sunfire and Moonshadow. Without getting into spoilers, the quest deals with the Dreamwalker’s followers and will take you to places previously unseen. To start it, you have to have interacted with these strange fanatics several times and explored the Bronze Desert.
Hey everyone,
Our original plan was to kick the year off with a neat content update (more about it here) in early February together with a host of fixes but the team crushed so many bugs in January – some of them critical – that we decided to release the update earlier. So here we are. We’ll follow this up soon with what we originally intended. Very soon, actually. As always, the majority of the bugs we have fixed were reported by our amazing community. We can’t thank you enough for helping us improve Vagrus, but we’ll try with additional content in the future.
Hey everyone,
With the festive season now firmly behind us, we here at Lost Pilgrims Studio would like to wish all of you a prosperous 2024. We hope that you all feel as recharged and energetic about the new year as we do.
The release of the expansion Sunfire and Moonshadow and its accompanying Season Pass were our main highlights of 2023, yet in 2024, we have even bigger plans. Namely, the release of two DLCs: a companion DLC and a region DLC. Needless to say, if you’ve already bought the Season Pass, you needn’t do anything more than wait – we’re already hard at work on both pieces of content – and we can’t wait to share more information (and teasers, naturally!) about them as we draw closer to their release.
