Today we celebrate the 1-year anniversary of the full release of Vagrus – The Riven Realms. We are happy to have reached this point, and perhaps most importantly, we couldn’t have done it without the help of our backers, supporters, and players along the way. So here’s to you, vagri, for all your encouragement, assistance, feedback, and goodwill! In this post, we’ll be taking a little bit of a trip down memory lane, from the beginning and creation of the game to its release exactly one year ago. We’ll finish up with a small glimpse into the future of Vagrus and what players can expect moving forward.
Hey everyone,
Thanks for the amazing welcome of the Seekers of Knowledge DLC and our patch published parallel with all kinds of improvements. Seeing so many new players and hundreds of old ones who picked up the game again made the whole team very happy, especially with the game’s full release anniversary coming up soon. Expect a post on the day from us with a summary of the first year.
Hey everyone,
This time, we've got a new free DLC for you, along with revamped Scouting, a Glossary to clarify gameplay mechanisms and UI elements, as well as major backend improvements. It would be no understatement to say that this is a huge stepping stone for us and the Riven Realms.
Great news, vagri: after testing our new content as much as possible, we can now put down a release date for what will be our second free DLC – Seekers of Knowledge. That’s right; mark your calendars, because Seekers of Knowledge will be dropping on the 22nd of September.
With this DLC we are aiming to enrich the already vast playable realm and to further add to the victory paths already available to players. The DLC itself unlocks a variety of extensive questlines and introduces the Sunken Tower; a massive new dungeon and the focal point of the release’s new, unique stories.
Hello everyone,
Recently, we have published posts about several bigger and smaller features and other goodies, such as the Glossary, improvements, new Skills, and so on. There is, however, something else we have been spending a lot of time on, and probably most of our players won’t even notice the outcome.
Our post last week featured James, one of our recently hired writers. We hope you expect the unexpected because today’s post is about Zeli, a recently hired writer! Both of them have joined Lost Pilgrims at the same time, so their tasks have been essentially the same: working on the Glossary, reviewing existing material, delving into the rich lore of the Riven Realms, and of course spinning tales for the upcoming Seekers of Knowledge DLC – among other things.
Hello everyone,
Revamping campaign map movement and scouting into a sleeker system allowed us to move on to something else our players have expressed their need for. Many of you wanted more information and clarity on gameplay mechanics to be able to better understand its complexity – rightly so. That is why we are publishing a Beta version of the new Glossary. This feature doesn’t deal with content, but is aimed at clarifying game mechanisms and UI segments. It is accessible in the game by pressing ‘G’ or clicking on the eye icon in the top-right corner of the screen.
Our team at Lost Pilgrims Studio is delighted to announce that we have been chosen for an ongoing event this week, which aims to showcase some of the smallest studios and their indie games. Called the Tiny Teams Festival, the event is run by Yogscast and will be covered online through both Twitch and YouTube. Several streamers who are involved in the event have requested keys to play Vagrus – The Riven Realms and naturally, we’re happy to comply. You can check out those streamers below:
Hey everyone,
Originally, we haven’t scheduled a patch before your next DLC, but since that is still in progress and you’ve reported a few larger bugs – which is always much appreciated – we decided to release one anyway. The new major scouting features are still being tested, however, we squeezed in a few smaller changes into this build, so it’s more than just a simple hotfix. Event image panning is a new effect you may have heard of already, while House Venari and the Carpenters’ Guild becoming one another’s associates is a meaningful change in the life of the comitati roaming Terra Supra.
Hello all,
The team has been hard at work on a variety of impactful changes; this build is the culmination of those changes in the lead-up to our upcoming free content: The Sunken Tower (DLC). A teaser about the Tower and its associated knowledge victory questline is coming soon.
The build itself introduces several quality of life improvements to general gameplay, including quick camp, automarch, daytime hunting and foraging, and automatic supply acquisition. The goal of these changes is to streamline core gameplay loops and minimize micromanagement for players who enjoy those less while still leaving the same options open for others. For more information about specifics regarding these changes you can view our recent devlog post on steam.
