This week, we have two things to talk about that are close to our hearts: we were invited to speak on the Into the Indies podcast, and we’ve just released a brand new update! Let’s get into the nitty-gritty of both.
We’ve had the pleasure of appearing on Indie Game Picks before in the form of a written interview, but this time felt different. In this Into the Indies episode, our Creative Lead Geri Mácsai and Project Lead Gábor Szutorisz had the chance to sit down and truly reflect on the journey – how it all started from humble, uncertain beginnings, and how Vagrus slowly took shape through years of persistence, experimentation, and learning.

We come to you this week with two pieces of media, especially for those interested in the heart behind Vagrus – our studio lead and producer Gábor Szutorisz, and our creative lead Gergely “Geri” Mácsai. Both were recently featured on the popular Hungarian gaming podcast Checkpoint, where they recorded their thoughts in Hungarian.

Since At the Heart of Ruin’s release, we’ve been honored to receive press from a variety of outlets, on YouTube, and be promoted by fellow developers who are kind enough to give the expansion a shout-out.

With this post, we invite all of you to welcome Ákos Porcsin, who joined Lost Pilgrims fairly recently as a Graphic Designer and UX/UI Designer. Alright, alright, that's only half-true, because actually, Ákos has been working on various aspects of Vagrus for a while now, but now he's joining us full-time. Most of the awesome UI improvements are to his credit and his responsibilities will now also include social media tasks, video editing, print media, and much more. When he isn't working, playing video games, or recording video gaming industry podcasts, Ákos is a super outdoorsy dude, riding his bike, climbing a wall, or hiking somewhere.

Besides working on implementing new features into our Open Access build, we made great progress with prepping for the debut of the first Open-world region - Tor'Zag's Shelter and its surroundings - which basically is about the first half of the main game. We are actually contemplating to bring its release ahead of polishing all the features.

April and May were tough on us with a super busy schedule but it was well worth it. Let' see why in some detail!
We attended Reboot Develop Blue in Dubrovnik as you may know and talked to a number of press representatives. A great example of that is the video above, which was recorded as part of a longer discussion that you can read here: https://www.shacknews.com/article/111819/vagrus-the-riven-realms-interview-born-from-a-tabletop-world
