We come to you this week with two pieces of media, especially for those interested in the heart behind Vagrus – our studio lead and producer Gábor Szutorisz, and our creative lead Gergely “Geri” Mácsai. Both were recently featured on the popular Hungarian gaming podcast Checkpoint, where they recorded their thoughts in Hungarian.
Geri and Gábor were quite frank and opened up about a number of topics, including the transition from corporate life to game development, indie game trends as they see them, their TTRPG sessions that – among other things – spawned the game’s setting, and the struggles of making a particularly niche game like Vagrus. They also touch upon some lore questions, the peculiar genre of the game, or rather, how it defies classification and why, as well as what were some of the largest obstacles in development for the title. Naturally, we recommend you check it out (though again, it is only in Hungarian).
Since the release of our At the Heart of Ruin expansion, we’ve also been keeping a close eye on resident streamer Ben the Human, who we interviewed in Februrary this year, and who has been diligently grinding his way through the new (fiery) mountain of content we just released! He’s now 17 episodes deep into his series and some episodes have been particularly popular. The first episode, ostensibly, its most-watched, yet particular favourites appear to have arisen among his audience, too. Namely, the episode that features his delving into the Wound, where he encounters the writings of an ominous wanderer who saw the gangrenous gouge in the earth as some kind of holy site. It’s a real gag-inducer; we recommend checking it out!
If you’ve not watched Ben’s content before, you’ll be satisfied that he does a great reading of what’s written in the game. This one snippet, found in his popular episode 11, is a great example of that.

That, dear friends, is all we have time for this week. Until next time, do as you always do – stay safe, stay awesome, and conquer the wasteland!
