The have been or will be game design posts about all but one: narration so let's focus on that for a second.
New Content: Extended Narration
It has taken much longer than expected to reach Charles - the voice of Agos the Wanderer - due to some personal matters as well as his change of career. We are happy to share that now we have all the narration recorded for Agos through-out Pilgrims of the Wasteland, and even for the beginning of the main game as he leaves your comitatus after sharing his story. We plan to make a few minor sound editing changes to these new recordings but wanted to delay this build no further, so we will do that in a subsequent iteration only. When playing the PotW story, it gives so much to it already that we think you will like this a lot. Also, here's a shout-out for Charles' new focus as he instructs singers on how to become more confident. Check out and sign up to support his Patreon page if you are interested.
It's been a long time since we posted an update about our social media numbers, so it is time to set that right.
We have twice as many followers on game portals - like Steam, GameJolt, and so on - as we did in Q1 this year, and another few hundred came even on top of that with GOG.com accepting Vagrus into their portfolio just recently (as a note: we only consider actual followers, and do not count people who put the game on their wishlist).
Laurels All Around
In our endeavour to get Vagrus into the sights of as many cRPG lovers as we can, we applied for featured spots in a number of nearby game shows - successfully! Not only did we get invited to present Vagrus the game itself but our art design and developer pitch has been rewarded as well making it into the official selection of said shows (see above). That reminds us to bring to your attention the upcoming opportunities to meet us in person:
Besides working on implementing new features into our Open Access build, we made great progress with prepping for the debut of the first Open-world region - Tor'Zag's Shelter and its surroundings - which basically is about the first half of the main game. We are actually contemplating to bring its release ahead of polishing all the features.
'Ever been to Salum, mate? Mighty odd place I tell ya. Them Ratharnak mooks claim to have struck gold with the salt but the operation looks pretty shitty if ye ask me. Perhaps they literally struck gold instead, eh?'
- The musings of the vagabond called Shakub over an ale, shortly before his disappearance

Hey Vagrus Fans,
while our Fig crowdfunding campaign is in full effect, we've been busy working on one of the gameplay updates: the new deployment features for Companion Combat.
Above you can see the old and the new Deployment UI and probably can easily spot the differences.
The Sadirar people are native to the ever scorching and arid deserts of the Searing Plains where their villages are located. Some of these settlements are out among the endless dunes of Arenas Vorax while others are nestled on the precarious slopes of the Mountains of Fire in the west. Built of stone mostly, these villages are protected fiercely by tribesmen and shamans of the four Great Tribes dedicated to the elements. Will you aid the Sadirar or attack their villages as a mercenary?
We are very proud and excited to finally release the second Teaser for Vagrus!
This one is focusing more on delivering a gist of the game's feel and atmosphere than showing off gameplay elements systematically like the first teaser did. Also, it will be used - in part or in whole - in our upcoming Fig.co crowdfunding campaign.
We at Lost Pilgrims will always remember 2018 as the year when it all began to come together, the year when everything changed for us. It was the year when development on Vagrus got out of the preparation phase and into hardcore production.
Now that this crucial year is done and over with, we felt it would behoove us to recount how 2018 went for those of you interested (and for posterity!).
There's been a lot of talk lately of the Prologue, so much in fact that it's easy to forget about the rest of the game. We can assure you we haven't though, and been hard at work on the content that would feature in the Early Access release. The vast majority of the currently completed content is writing but artwork (both character and environment) is a close second.
