As the day’s heat settles over the deserts and arid wastelands of Xeryn, travel becomes even more treacherous. In Vagrus, several game systems represent or contextualize this – Vigor loss, Movement Point costs (that include difficulty from “climate”), and even Events that deal with the hardships or challenges presented by scorching weather. In our upcoming At the Heart of Ruin expansion, the heat will be turned up even more. The Mountains of Fire might not be beaten by the cruel sun all day due to the blanket of ash obscuring the skies, but volcanic activities take care of raising temperatures to even greater extremes.

Meanwhile in the real world, the hot summer is here – and with it, vacation season. Many of us on the Lost Pilgrims team are taking some much-needed time off, recharging after a busy spring. That said, the team is still hard at work in general. Despite the rising temperatures (both in the Riven Realms and in our home city of Budapest), development continues steadily on At the Heart of Ruin as well as on other exciting updates or patches. Patch 1.21, Codename: Pactum Diais, brought many bug fixes and performance improvements after our console release, with some additional love for controller support this time around. More is on the way, of course, and will drop very soon.

In other summer news, we’re thrilled to announce that the Centurion Edition of Vagrus – The Riven Realms is finally making its way to consoles! This special bundle includes the base game, the Patronage Pack (featuring lore-rich extras and digital goodies), and the Official Soundtrack to immerse you even further in the harsh beauty of the Riven Realms.
