Excitement builds steadily as Vagrus's console release draws closer, and at the studio, the mood is elated. We cannot wait to introduce the game to an entirely new segment of the player base, which, according to the feedback we’ve received thus far, can hardly wait for the release. Thus, as we march onward to the 31st of March release date (for Xbox, Nintendo Switch, PS4, and PS5), we thought it’d be fitting to share some of the features that we think make the game play well on consoles. It’s certainly not your typical console release, though, if not for anything else, then for the mix of genres that is Vagrus.
In the console version, decking out your comitatus has never been easier. Once you select a piece of equipment from the list of owned pieces, appropriate slots for it are highlighted green, letting you know exactly where you might use it. Take a look for yourself.
Vagrus has a gigantic, sprawling narrative in written form, making it perfect for gamers who enjoy a dark fantasy experience with rich lore. In service of this, the console version will include a seamless UI zoom feature, which makes for an optimized reading experience.
To further enhance readability, we’ve tweaked the ability to change font sizes. This now allows reading the many stories of Vagrus from almost any (feasible) distance.
The best part about all this? You can play Vagrus from your couch! Or, better yet, someone else in your family might give it a shot, and playing could even turn into an experience not unlike playing a tabletop RPG adventure or a gamebook – stranger things have happened!
As a small addition due to certain console DLC policies, the Vagrus – The Riven Realms Soundtrack DLC now also includes a unique banner for the comitatus in-game, and not just for the consoles, of course. You can equip it in the usual way (from the Leader UI).
Further to all this, Lost Pilgrims Studios is looking for reviewers to sink their teeth into the console release. If you like the idea, just direct message (DM) us on our Twitter/X account, where we’ll be happy to give you a review key.
And if you’re already a PC player of Vagrus, you might consider letting some of your more console-oriented gamer friends know about its release. We’d really appreciate it!
That’s all for now, but as the 31st of March creeps closer, we ask you to mark your calendars, prepare yourself, and – as always – conquer the wasteland!
